Kamala Beach, Phuket

Situated on the west coast of Phuket, Kamala is probably the only resort destination here in Phuket, that has stemmed from it's original roots of a small fishing village. The small town of Kamala, nestles behind the beach and is surrounded by lush tropical mountains on all sides.

Many people often pass through Kamala not realising that it has such a long and beautiful white sandy beach, as you can see from the image above. This gently sloping beach, along with the shallow bay, makes it the perfect for swimming for both parents, and children alike. 

Being on the west coast, which is were all of the beaches are in Phuket, Kamala also benefits from some amazingly beautiful sunsets. Sit on the beach at sunset, and watch the tropical end to another day as the sun disappears into the sea! Perfect.... and very romantic!

Kamala, although still quite small, has a wide choice of restaurants to select from. There are also several banks, a selection of different shops, and also a choice of bars. Three times a week there is a local market, where most things can be found, and is certainly worth a visit.

From Kamala Beach, most other places on the island of Phuket are very easily reached, most places can be reached within about 40 minutes. There are trips or tours around the island from Kamala Beach, or out to Phang Nga Bay, and it's thousands of wonderful tropical islands, are of which are easily booked in Kamala. The scenery around Phuket is lush and tropical, add the perfect weather, and you soon see why it is a place to visit anytime of the year.
